February Tournament Results

A record of 16 players showed up for the Straight Pool Tournament at
Sam's Billiards on Sunday. It was a very strong tournament, even if the
results look a lot like last month, with Pon Kanlaya and Paul Marquez
taking the top two spots again. Pon won his 5th Sam's 14-1 tournament in
a row, following his high run of 52 last month with a 47-ball run this
month.

The results for the February tournament were as follows:

1st place - Pon Kanlaya
2nd place - Paul Marquez
3rd place - Rick Hodge
4th place - Bill Enger

High Run: 47 balls - Pon Kanlaya

Despite the full contingent of 16 players, the tournament lasted less
than 6 hours and went very smoothly. My thanks to everyone for playing.
Hope to see you March 2 for the next straight pool tournament at Sam's.

Be sure to show up on time. If we  have 16 players I will definitely not
let anyone into the tournament who shows up after 11 a.m. I may
eventually cap it at the first 16 players through the door, even if the
17th shows up before 11 a.m. For the time being, I'll try to accommodate
everyone there by 11 a.m. even if the tournament takes a little longer.
